The largest positive contributor was food and beverages with an output growth rate of 5.8% and a contribution of 1.3 percentage points.

In the three months ended August 31, seasonally adjusted manufacturing production increased by 0.1%, compared with the previous three months.

Four of the ten manufacturing divisions reported positive growth rates over this period, particularly basic iron and steel, which grew by 1.8% and contributed 0.4 of a percentage point.

Seasonally adjusted manufacturing sales also decreased by 1.8% in August, compared with July, which followed month-on-month changes of 1.8% in July and 0.5% in June.
